Aerolíneas Argentinas Adds Second Daily Buenos Aires–Madrid Flight
Aerolíneas Argentinas will increase its Buenos Aires–Madrid service to two daily nonstop flights from August 2026, strengthening the most heavily travelled air corridor between South America and Europe. The announcement, published on 25 May 2026, means European travellers — particularly those from Spain — will have significantly more schedule flexibility when flying to Argentina.
The New Schedule
Both services operate between Ministro Pistarini International Airport (Ezeiza, EZE) in Buenos Aires and Adolfo Suárez Madrid-Barajas Airport (MAD), using Airbus A330-200 aircraft configured for 272 passengers in two classes, including 24 business-class seats.
- AR 1134: departs Buenos Aires 15:05, arrives Madrid 08:20 the following morning
- AR 1135: departs Madrid 10:45, arrives Buenos Aires 19:00
In August 2026, Aerolíneas will operate 123 flights on the route. Iberia leads the market with 204 operations that month, followed by Air Europa (62) and Plus Ultra (44), meaning travellers have a wide choice of carriers between the two capitals.
Context for Travellers
Buenos Aires has seen strong inbound interest from Spanish and European travellers throughout 2026, and the expanded schedule reflects demand rather than speculative capacity. The Ezeiza–Madrid corridor is popular with both leisure visitors exploring Patagonia, Mendoza wine country, and Iguazú Falls, as well as the large diaspora community travelling between Spain and Argentina.
Argentina continues to hold a US State Department Level 1 advisory — the lowest possible rating — for most of the country, indicating normal travel precautions are sufficient for the vast majority of destinations.
Planning a Trip
With Buenos Aires as the primary entry point, travellers arriving from Madrid can connect quickly to domestic flights reaching Patagonia, the northwest, and the Littoral within the same day. Aerolíneas Argentinas operates the most extensive domestic network in the country.
