Chilean low-cost carrier JetSMART is expanding its Argentina domestic network with five new routes, two of which connect Buenos Aires Jorge Newbery Aeroparque (AEP) directly to the northwest and northeast of the country.
New Routes and Dates
Buenos Aires Aeroparque – Jujuy (JUJ) begins on 1 October 2026, operating daily on Airbus A321neo aircraft. The northwest province of Jujuy, including the Quebrada de Humahuaca — a UNESCO World Heritage site — has historically been underserved by low-cost carriers, making this a significant addition for travellers headed to the Andean altiplano.
Buenos Aires Aeroparque – Posadas (PSS) launches on 3 November 2026, also daily, on A320 equipment. Posadas is the gateway to the Misiones province, within range of both the Argentine and Brazilian sides of Iguazú Falls.
JetSMART is completing the addition with three further domestic routes as part of the same expansion cycle, bringing its Argentina fleet to 23 aircraft.
What This Means for Travellers
Before this announcement, reaching Jujuy from Buenos Aires typically meant flying with AerolÃneas Argentinas or using a combination of road and coach connections. JetSMART’s entry introduces competitive pricing on a route where introductory fares are typically available at launch.
The Posadas route provides a second low-cost option for the Iguazú corridor, complementing existing services and making it easier to price-compare for Q4 2026 travel.
Booking and Planning
Tickets for both routes are available now through JetSMART’s website and app. Carry-on baggage policies on JetSMART routes are strict — only a small personal item is included in the base fare; checked bags and cabin bags must be added separately.
We have guides for both Jujuy and Posadas for travellers planning trips to either destination, as well as a full overview for those using Buenos Aires as a starting point before flying onward. Compare Argentina flights across all carriers for the best available fares on both new routes.
